Dress Up!!!!

So, we had a very large limb come through our fence the other day!!! Josh ask the kids if they wanted to help him fix it and told them to get dressed~~~~this is how they came out!!! WOW~wonder what everyone thought as they drove by and the farmer and the rockstar were holding hammers!!

This was another dress up day! Avery decided that she was a unicorn-thus the VERY large triangle taped to her headband!! The wings were so very carefully decorated and TAPED to her good school belt to hold them on. She can really come up with some stuff!!

Tyson wanted to be a chicken, so this is what Avery came up with for him-mind you they did this ALL on their own with no help from me. Tyson loved his chicken costume until Avery put hers on and he saw that her triangle was bigger than his~NOT a happy little boy about it!! He no longer owns the chicken costume. Notice the black vest with the phone in his pocket. This is his phone to call Pop and Bud on~~~~no one else gets a call from this phone! Not sure why, but everytime you ask who he is talking to, it's Pop or Bud.

As you can see~the kids dressed themselves to make dad's cake! They were SO excited!!

They also made him special b-day cards. We couldn't drive because of just having Molly, so we had to do with what we had at home!

As I said~we couldn't drive, so we made him a golf course cake!! I think he loved it WAY more than if we had bought one from somewhere else. We had so much fun, and it was big enough to share with the entire neighborhood. I think everyone shared cake with us!

You can only imagine how cold we were Monday night~it was in the 40's with the wind raging!! Avery had on 2 jackets, tights, gloves, and ear warmers! She looked like the marshmallow man under her soccer shirt. Her jacket is a very thick one and with the shirt on top of it she looked so funny. Everyone was laughing~she loved it.

After the last game, the team went to Ci Ci's pizza and got their trophy!! Avery loved it, and the pizza was not so bad!!

These are Tyson's new favorite thing to wear! We were in Chili's with them on in this picture. It is the cutest thing with his rubber boots!!

Josh gets Tyson up and ready after Avery and I leave in the mornings and I think by looking at the picture, his daddy spoils him a little!! Breakfast in bed! So sweet!

We took the kids to ULM to see a game. They had a blast. We sat SO high, I was a nervous wreck! There were no railings, just high!

The girls had a great time! They played good for olny a couple of practices, and they loved it. Avery said that she was pretty tired out there, but she liked it!

Sorry it's been so long! I am up to my ears in with work and taking care of the kids. I have not adjusted so well to going back to work, so maybe things will slow down soon and I can get back to business. Avery is doing GREAT in school. She is loving it and her work is great. She is learning to read and doing very well! She starts soccer practice Friday afternoon, so we went tonight and got her supplies! She and the two girls across the street are on the same team, so we all went together tonight to get their cleats, shin guards, and shorts. They were three excited little girls. As far as we know, the first game will be Saturday, Oct. 3. We don't know the times yet, but I'll try to let everyone know when we find out.

Tyson...................................I put him in bed and he told me he needed to go to the bathroom, so I let him get up and go by himself, only to think about 10 minutes later that he sure was quiet...........This is what he was doing! He found the powder. I had to crop the picture because he didn't have anything on, but you should see our bathroom floor! It's covered with powder. AWWW.....my sweet little man. You can't get onto a smile like that.

I had a job interview today on a short notice, so Tyson stayed with our neighbor, Mrs. Shannon! He was SO excited. She has 3 kids-two girls that were at school and a little boy that's 8 months.

As you can see, he is dressing himself these days. We actually went to the grocery store like this today. It's 90 degrees, he has shorts, rubber boots, basketball shorts, a t-shirt, and a

toboggan (spelling)! We got lots of looks and ooohhh's and aaawwww's.

The interview went really well!! I think it's a great school and they have a job opening from January to May only in first grade. I would be full time with teacher pay and benefits until the end of May when the teacher comes back, and it would at least help me get my foot in the door for next year. What was I thinking saying that I was not going to work??? Maybe it will work out for us. Keep your fingers crossed!

Olive Street Gang!!

At any point in the afternoon, this is what our street looks like!! The bikes are lined up at some driveway! We counted and there are 23 kids in 9 houses on just our street! Most everyone has 3 to 4 kids-we have the least amount!

Speaking of all of the kids, we took most of them to the last Captains game this past week. They had a blast, and Captain Jack was a busy mascot trying to satisfy them! It was a nice game.

Tyson and his friend Brook enjoying seats all to themselves!! He calls her Brookie. They are sweet friends.

The ice cream truck came yesterday, and the kids took a little break in the shade to enjoy!! I think we were outside from about 2:00 to 7:00 yesterday. They do get their exercise here!

Avery Update

Well, in true Avery fashion, we are hearing alot of stories from school!! She is still loving it, but already wondering why she has to get up SO early!! She still has her alarm clock right beside her head, and has not heard it even once! :) We have to make sure that it's set every night just incase. She is so funny. She is NOT loving homework. She usually has about 3 pages per night, so it takes us a little while because she hasn't figured out that the faster she works, the faster she gets done and goes outside. She'll get it one day!

I put Tyson down in his bed and rushed off to Avery's room to read her book so she could get to bed, and Josh called me and asked if I had read a book to Tyson. When I walked in, this is where I found him~he was in his bed when I left! He made it down and over to his bookshelf by himself.

I let him get a book and he crawled back into his bed by himself.

We read his TRACTOR book~4th time today~and he was ready for bed......................................UNTIL

He needed to go potty!!! I was sitting at the bar loading the pictures of him in his shoes, and looked over and this is what I saw!!! He took off his diaper in his room, and he crawled into the bathroom and went all by himself!!! I just don't understand why people don't take care of thier kids problems~the shoes were a nightmare at first, but as you can see...........if they don't know any difference, this is what you get

Not feeling too well today. Kids are good~Josh was set to get started on his first homework assignments and got his books out that we drove HOURS for yesterday, and one of the books was wrong! He is on his way back to Monroe to get the right book. I am laying on the couch sick, and the kids are destroying the house, but that's ok-I'll clean it later. Hope everyone has a good week.

It's back to work for me (finally)!! Who would have thougth I would have said that!!! After the year I had at school last year, I thought I would never be ready to get back to a classroom, but here we are, and I am ready! It'l like a kid on the first day of school~what to wear, truck loaded down with all of my classroom stuff, couldn't sleep last night, and up early this morning. This will probably be the only post before work~I'm sure I won't be up early anymore. It's supposed to rain today, so I am going to leave the truck in the garage to keep my things safe and also to see how much room I will actually have in my new room. Keep your fingers crossed!

Avery and Tyson are good! We went outside about 6:00 last night to let the kids ride their bikes for a minute since Avery's headache finally went away about 3:00, and ended up with another block party in our yard. We were sitting out in our chairs watching the kids and here come two different sets of neighbors and all their kids. We played outside until about 8:00 and finally decided to go get all the kids ready for bed since the big kids had school today. It's nice to be able to sit and talk with neighbors from all over. Josh loves talking to Nick who is a pilot and hear about all of his training with the air force. Avery and Tyson are both still asleep this morning. They are about to get up and get ready to head to work with me! Wish us luck!

Weekend updates

Well, we made it through this CRAZY weekend!! Mom is now speaking to me for avoiding her on Friday (her b-day)!! The party seemed to clear her mind. We had a good time at the party and I think we actually surprised her! We all worked VERY hard to keep it a secret. Definatly worth it!

We ended up getting home about 3:30 Sat. afternoon. We didn't do alot. Josh washed his bike and the neighbors and their 3 kids came over for a little while. It was HOT, but a nice visit anyway.

Sunday morning we were moving slow, but ended up having a very productive day. Josh and Tyson went to Lowe's this morning to get things to install a dimmer switch in the hallway~Avery wants the hall light on at night, but it's so bright that she has to close her door almost all the way, so daddy saved the day and now we have a sleeping light in the hallway. After fixing all of that, we headed outside so that Avery could get a little rest. She has the same thing that Tyson had, so she is feeling SO bad. She has layed on the couch all day and has run fever and had a headache that is terrible. While she rested, Josh, Tyson and I cleaned out the garage and moved out all of my school stuff. I had to decide what to take to the school and what to put in the attac. We got it done and it looks great. All of my stuff is loaded in Josh's truck and parked in the garage until I can unload it at school, and everything else has a place!

While we were cleaning, new neighbors that just moved in came over and let thier boy play with Tyson outside. Noah is 18 months and loved playing in Avery's jeep. Tyson was not impressed, and didn't really play with him at all! You know, he's TOO big now to play with babies!!

Well, Avery is down in our bed so we can keep watch on her and Tyson is snuggling with monkey man in his bed. Hope everyone has a great week.

She made it!

She made it through the day with smiles! I picked her up and she talked all the way home. (no surprise there) She said her day was GREAT! Today was just a day for assessments, so the whole class was not there. She said that she was so smart on her test and got them all right. I don't have that from the teacher, but Avery knows she got all of them right! Last night we had to bake cookies for her friends today, so we packed them up, not knowing if the teacher would pass them out, but she said that they all loved the cookies. They had them when they got up from nap time. Mrs. Gullatt even sent home a little surprise! She sent a book home for her. We read it as soon as we got home. She is ready to go back and she loves her teacher. She did say that one little boy got lost~that was almost the first thing she told me-you know, that is the stuff they remember!! SHe said that he was not in her class, but he got in the wrong line when they lined up outside, but they found him and he was ok. She was very concerned for the little boy and assured me that she would never line up with the wrong class and she would be careful and safe!

TYSON UPDATE!!
He is SO sick. I called the Dr. in Nacogdoches and got them to call in a prescription to Center since we were going to be there tomorrow, but when his fever got to 102, I called the mother of a kid I had last year that works in the pharmacy in Wal-Mart and she is taking care of all of the transfer information to get his medicine over here. Josh will go by and pick it up on the way home from work, so we will be on the road to recovery. He is on his 3rd nap right now. I hated to get him out to go get Avery, but when you move away from all family, you just have to do things on your own, right? He is sound asleep now though.

Well, this is it! She is dressed and ready! She was SUPER excited~excited enough to be WIDE awake at 4:00 am this morning. It didn't help things that Tyson was sick and throwing up, but why not? School has started back, it's time for sickness and crazy bedtime schedules, right? Anyway, she had a blast getting ready today. She wanted to use new cream in her hair to make it softer, and got dressed the first time I asked her. She was even convinced that her breakfast made gave her great energy!

I told Josh that she was too big to pick up now, but he told me NEVER. Just as he put her down, he told her to grab his hand because we were in the parking lot and she said "dad, I'm in kindergarten!" He just looked at me with the saddest eyes. I could have cried!

School Starts!!

We went outside to take pictures and Tyson sat on the driveway watching all of the kids at the bus stop. Avery had to stand with the kids waiting for the bus until they left-which I didn't mind, because all of the parents were standing there cheering me on, one even brought me a BOX of Kleenex!!

On the way to school, she was having a fit because the cars in front of us weren't moving as fast as she thought they should. Everytime one vehicle inched up, she yelled for daddy to GO-there moving!!

AWWW.....one last reminder to use good manners and mind the first time. Sweet daddy!! It's a good thing she was smilling, because I think daddy would have cried if she did.

The night before Kindergarten!!

8:45-The clothes are layed out!

She's in her bed with the alarm clock close to her side (not that she will hear it, but it's there!!) She's ready!! She decided to pick out her own clothes-boy, that was easy-choosing from kakhi or navy blue skirts and shirts. I think I'm going to love this uniform thing. She cannot even fuss about the shoes she wears. Brown is the only option.

Just had to put Tyson on here. He is pretending to be asleep! He is so particular these days (well, really always) but he likes for monkey man to hold his back and he holds horsie in front of him. He is a MESS!! Well, say a prayer for our girl (and me and Josh) for tomorrow!

"Captain Jack"

I wish I had pictures!! We took the kids to the baseball game tonight and they had a blast. We sat right behind home plate and it was not very busy, so Captain Jack the mascot came and sat right beside the kids and played with them for a while. Avery and Tyson were SO excited about it; they shook hands, played peek a boo, gave hi-fives, and laughes ALOT! After a while, Captain Jack came back and brought Tyson an autographed baseball bat. (tyson's size-it was small) I took pictures with my camera, but I don't know how to get them from there to here! Avery felt a little left out, so Josh took her to the sales room and bought her a bat. They went and found Captain Jack and Avery asked him for his "address" (autograph) so he signed hers too. They are the happiest kids around tonight. The WHOLE ride home the two of them talked about their experience. It was great!

Meet the Teacher-2009

Well, as we walked in, she was pretty excited. We found her desk (in the back corner-she'll probably get moved to the front pretty soon) and started filling out paperwork for the teacher. The time we could go was from 1 to 2, so it was packed in the room. I think Avery got a little overwhelmed!!

We toured the school to see what all we could find. The pictures where the paintings are was in the gym. This is also where the stage is.

She wanted to take a picture beside both of the paintings. We found the library, but it was closed. They will be able to check out books every week, so she was excited about that. On the way home, she got pretty quiet and I asked her what was wrong and she told me that she was a little scared. She said that she might not remember where her room was, so we assured her that we would walk her in until she remembered where everything was. She got a little better after that. :( Made me and Josh a little sad!!

I think he may be crying here!!! Not really, but he didn't take those shades off!!

Ready for School!!

We spent the day at the dentist for a check up and then shopping!! Everything went good at the dentist~they gave her 2-3 weeks to pull the other loose tooth on the bottom before we have to go back and have it pulled. She promised that she would take care of it. Shopping went pretty good~we found 4 skirts, 2 shorts, 1 dress, 9 shirts, and knee socks in white and blue. She should be set! She is VERY excited. I would have let her put on her backpack to show you, but it is SO heavy with supplies, so that will be another day. I think we are really going to like this uniform stuff~easier to choose from in the morning! :)

Big Kids

Tyson and Avery are going to be hard to get out of the summer routine! Here you can see that they enjoy dressing themselves daily. Tyson uses mousse to fix his hair, and Avery puts a little of every color on when she dresses.

Tyson decided to wear pants like his daddy, but we had to help him a little.

Check out his new boots!! He loves them. He wears them everywhere-most of the time, he has shorts on with them.

new updates (finally)

So, it was brought to my attention (mom) that I never posted the happenings of the tooth fairy. SHE CAME!! Aver woke up and ran into our room at 5:20 am screaming "she came, she came, she came." It scared us to death. We both jumped up so fast thinking something was wrong and when we could actually make out what she was saying, it was all smiles! The tooth fairy brought 5-1 dollar bills! We went shopping the next morning and she bought 2 baby bottles and a set of pom-poms. Here in the 1st picture, she is playing with friends from down the street (there were 8-yes I typed 8 kids in our house the other night) during our "street meet." You'll see the wonderful bottle that she bought wuth her money in her hand raised high above the crowd! They wer playing babies.
I finally sent the kids home at 11:00 PM!!!! Told them they could come back another day-our street meets usually run into the late hours of the night, but SO much fun!!

The next morning, we got up and went to the fountains down town next to Si-Port and played with more friends. They had a great time!

There was a train that went through on the tracks that were above us and the driver stopped and waived and blew the train whistle for the kids. They sat on these benches for the longest time watching that train. You should have seen Tyson's eyes! He loved it.

Avery lost her 1st tooth!!

It's V ERY exciting around the Windham house tonight. At dinner tonight, Avery's first loose tooth fell out! She was SO surprised! She thought it was a chip and she took it out of her mouth and held it up and said "MOM"!! I looked at her face and knew right then what happened! Dad put the tooth in a bag and we have it all set up for the tooth fairy, BUT now Avery is FRIGHTENED about the tooth fairy!! She and Josh have had a LONG talk and now she is calling on me for answers! We'll let you know how it all turned out. The tooth may end up sleeping on her dresser for the night. She told Josh that she was afraid that if we put it on the dresser the fairy might not find it, so she would try it. :) Let me go see if I can answer!! Wish us luck with her questions~she is a pretty smart cookie!

Puppy Love

Seems as if Tyson and Pixie have made a bond since we have moved. This is the scene at anytime of the day. Tyson loves to go outside and love on Pix. They are pretty funny! Pixie has gotten to where she will stand over the top of Tyson if he is sitting down. I mean, stand over him so much that Tyson's head is touching Pixie's stomach !! Sweet loves!

AAAAHHHHHH!! Walking through sticky, yummy root-beer on the kitchen floor!! So, tyson now thinks that he is big enough to fix his own drinks! Good thing we don't cry over spilled milk (or root beer or kool-aid or juice or any thing liquid) !! They just run to the laundry room and get (usually a clean towell from inside the dryer) something to clean it up! We just tell them "good job cleaning, and maybe next time, ask mom or dad for help!" That never seems to work! Oh well, we'll be sad when they are ACTUALLY big enough to fix their own!

We had a great weekend! Josh kept the kids on Saturday so I could come in and go to Ashley's baby shower. It was nice when I said I was on vacation everyday, and after keeping the kids one day, Josh said that I was NOT on a vacation. It was good for him to see all that we do in the day~makes us appreciate each other more! ;) We took the kids to the pool Friday night and it was so nice out. Avery swam from the shallow end to the deep end without us in the pool! Josh was a nervous wreck! She is SO confident in the pool. She is doing great! We are just waiting for Tyson to bail in, but he is doing pretty good following the rules at the pool. Sunday was great. We stayed around the house and waited on the afternoon so we could go out for our usual "wait on the ice cream truck" play time. I think that is our favorite time of the week! Josh and I enjoy it SO much. We didn't get ice cream, guess we missed him, but we still had a great time. We went to the board walk and met Zane and his family for dinner. We had a nice visit. Hope everyone has a great week!! We are on the count down to vacation!! We leave Sunday for Orange Beach, Alabama.

YOU'LL NEVER BELIEVE THIS!!

You know it's good when I am blogging at midnight!

WOW!! What a story! We'll start with:
"The things I can do with a brand, a wire brush, and a hook" ~Josh Windham~

So, about 8:45 last night, the wind started to blow pretty good, so we went outside to "tidy" up a little before the rain. While Josh was putting the lid on the sandbox and I was putting the rocking chairs a little closer to the house, we heard a very loud noise then voices from down the road. We ran to the fence to see what happened and saw that a tree had fallen across the road and a car was stopped and someone was out and yelling loud enough for us to hear. Josh took off down the road barefoot, shorts and no shirt on! Thank goodness no one was hurt. The lady had just moved her car and parked when the tree fell and she was screaming "there is a God!!!" So, Josh comes back home and we settle the kids and sit down to watch TV. Not long after that, the satelite froze up and we just sat and talked until we put the kids to bed. Since it was coming a flood and the lightning was TERRIBLE, we let Avery lay down on the couch and I rocked Tyson then layed him down in his bed. They were both snug as bugs!! As I walked passed the window in the living room I noticed that there were flashing lights coming from down the road so since the kids were out, Josh and I decided to walk out and see if they were really cutting the tree during the middle of a lightening STORM! The rain had just about stopped and we were so happily splashing through the puddles and saw that they were infact taking care of the tree, so we were headed back in when I reached and turned the door knob and it was LOCKED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Did you read that? LOCKED!! We laughed for a second and wondered what we would do, but I never imagined it would come to what it did!
We stopped for a moment and looked around trying to figure out what we were going to do. We decided since Avery was asleep on the couch, and luckly since the blinds were open, we would just bang on the windows and wake her up. We debated for a while just because we didn't want to scare her! SCARE HER!!! A MACK TRUCK COULD HAVE COME THROUGH WIDE OPEN AND SHE WOULDN'T HAVE MOVED! We did everything we could think of. I must have rang the door bell 10,000 times and Josh even more than me. Now, remember, we are barefoot, and Josh still has no shirt on. It is after 10:00 and the rain was coming down again. We were running back in forth between the front yard to ring the bell, and the back yard to bang on the windows. We debated on breaking a window payne out of the door, but figured out that it was a solid piece of glass and didn't want to have to replace the entore door. We stopped again and looked around, all while banging on the windows praying that Avery would wake up. In the mean time, somewhere around 10:00, my cell phone, Josh's cell phone, and our house phone all rang because mom was worried about us with the bad weather (if she only knew!!!!!)and neither kid woke up. No luck waking her up, so we started grabbing everything we could to try to break in. I was not much help between running back and forth between the windows in the back and the door bell in the front. So, my amazing husband after about 1 and a half hours and ALOT of banging noises broke into the door. We had tried everything, and he finally pulled the frame back far enough with the brand and hammered the hook in enough with the wire brush that both of us were able to get in and get it open. The only thing that saved us from getting the cops called on us because of all the noise we were making was the fact that there were chain saws going just down the road! I really thought we were in trouble the last time I went around to the front and the neighbor was looking out her window when I walked from behind the house to the front, but she just shut off all her lights and didn't come back out!

Wow, what my husband can do with a brand, a wire brush, and a hook!!

I think a little touch up paint will work just fine! At least now we know that no one is getting in without a FIGHT!! If we are here when someone tries, we will know it long before they get in, though the kids will not be bothered by the noise!

Here is our little lady OUT in la la land! She sure sleeps hard! There is nothing bothering her. Guess I would rather have them sleep sound than wake up with every little sound. (though it would have been helpful this one time)

Simple Sunday's

I think Pixie Girl enjoys her new back yard. This is how we find her in the mornings!! ROTTEN!!

These are my babies waiting for the Ice Cream Truck. We could hear it for about 20 minutes before it actually passed our house, but we were there, waiting and waiting. Avery and Tyson took advantage of the sprinklers to keep cool, Josh and I on the other hand, BURNED UP, but completly worth it to see them jump up and down screaming "I scream for ICE CREAM." (she couldn't quite get the whole song out) Avery got a snowcone and Tyson got a Sour Popsicle. They ate it unitl the last drop, they even shared a little!

Movie Night

How about these glasses!! We took the kids to see ICE AGE in 3-D. They loved it. Avery kept saying that "it almost got me!!" and she thought that it was going to gobble her up!

Avery has been on a role tonight. She got mail from Ninnie and Papa and Brenda, so after leaving the movie, she called Papa and told him thanks for sending her mail and she told him that it was pretty smart for an "old man and an old girl" to send her so much mail!!!!! I was driving and almost ran off the road when she said that. I can't wait to call Ninny and tell her! She'll love it! After we got home, we changed and got ready for bed and that means story time. We were all in Tyson's floor and after setteling both the kids and Josh down, we read a book about puppies that kept digging under the fence and getting in trouble and going to bed without dessert. When we finished, she looked at Josh and me with a terribe face and said, "that mean momma" (I was thinking "mean" because she didn't let them have dessert) but NOT Avery! She said, "if she would take them out on a walk they wouldn't have to dig under the fence to get out. They just want to walk. And anyway, dogs eat dog food, not desserts!!" That's my girl!! Thinking outside of the box for sure!

By the way, she is getting her first book published as we speak! It is in publication and should be delivered to our door in about a week. We cannot wait to see it! She was the author and illustrator for the enitre thing. She just may be going big places in her life!

Nap Time!!

While Tyson as fast asleep for nap, Avery was HARD at work! She decided that she wanted to write a book. The book is called Joscelyn's world. It is still in the production stage, but I cannot wait for all of you to see it. She is the author and illustrator of the book and I wish you could have see her telling the story as I TRIED to quickly write it down. She was just as excited about the illustrations! She is something else. Wonder what Tyson will come up with when he's her age????

We had a great time at Poppy/Da's playing in the water and eating TOO much good food. Since we mentioned good food, we came back in Sunday to eat at Ninny's and it was SOOOO good! There was enough food to feed a small army! Tyson at his weight in food and cake! If no one else enjoyed the food, Tyson did! Avery and Hunter were finished and playing for 10 minutes before Tyson ever got up from the table. I wish you all could have seen him having a CONVERSATION with his cousin Hunter~they talked about who knows what~you know I really think they can understand one another in their language. Sweet boys!

Captains Baseball Game

We have definatly decided that we enjoy the baseball games!! Zane, Erendida, Ethan, and Joscelyn joined us for the game and fireworks show. The kids had a great time. As you can see in the first picture, Avery and Tyson were not as happy with the "Dodge Ram" mascot as they are with "Captain Jack" but they agreed to take their picture.

They look like they are planning something!!!

I think it is safe to say these two will be season ticket holders in the near future!! I see many nights of baseball. (It's a good thing Avery and I enjoy it as well!!)

Today is Josh's birthday!! 28 years old. We had a great dinner last night with everyone. Avery and Tyson enjoyed the visit and afterward, I asked Tyson who he went and ate with and his response (not surprising) was Poppy and Bud and when I asked what he ate, his answer was "butter." Butter and Poppy and Bud!! Yeah for the rest of us who were there but not noticed! It's a good thing he is so sweet, because feelings could get hurt!

We went the other day and let Josh pick out his gift, so we had not planned on letting him open anything today, but Avery saw different!! Yesterday, we had to go into Wal-Mart and she wanted to know what we were getting for daddy to open on his birthday, so I explained that he already had his gift, so he wouldn't have anything. She went on and on, so the pictures of us that I had printed, I bought frames and put them in a bag for dad to open this morning! He was so excited to get a picture of himself!! She loved it! She came running in with the present EARLY this morning. SO sweet!

Poor Josh is sitting at the DMV this morning waiting to renew his license. Good luck with that! We wish you a speedy time.

A Day of Play

Our morning started with a little snuggling on the couch with Avery and Tyson, and before breakfast we found ourselves in a world of storybooks! We must have read 6 books while we were on the couch. I guess that lead to the playtime outside. Avery needed to get on her softball uniform (which she still has on) and Tyson wanted his shirt off and his helmet on. (boys!) Anyway, they played who knows what outside for about an hour this morning before we left to run our errands. We got done with everything and our friend Bridgett called to see if we wanted to meet for lunch and let the kids play for a while, so we had chicken nuggets and playtime. They had so much fun. Bridgett and I always say that we are going to let them play a little and be home by naptime, but so far we haven't made it home at naptime yet. They just play SO good together and have too much fun to leave. We're going to rest a while and then get busy picking up the house. Going out for Josh's birthday tonight with Randy and Lesa, and Donny and Jackie. (maybe we'll get Avery out of the softball uniform before then!!)

Ok, so you know how I love using Clinique~Tyson decided to us a LITTLE himself! He found a bottle of my good face lotion and decided to LATHER himself in it. He now has the softest belly in all of Bossier City!! He was SO proud of it. I don't know if you can see it in the picture, but his little tum tum is super glossy!!

Goodmorning! I am a little behind this morning~you know, washing sheets and breakfast and all!

Sunday was good~we did't do much. We went to church and came back and had lunch and a movie~Horton Hears a Who~Josh laughed harder than the kids!! It was a cute move.

The last picture of Tyson is just to show you that he has learned a new trick~now, I didn't get a picture of him doing it in the act, but later thought about it and thought it was worth sharing. He can now get out of his bed with his shoes on! Now as you can imagine, this is no quiet task~the sound of his large metal bar scraping down the side of his wooden bed is unmistakeable. He probably got out of his bed about 10 times last night. We leave his door cracked a good bit so that he has plenty of light and Josh and I were in the living room watching him as he got out. He would slide himself across his floor until he could see out of the crack in the door and yell "momma~daddy" until we finally would get up to go put him back in bed. When he saw us coming he would turn fast and pull up to his bed and try to get back in, but he hasn't learned how to pull up both legs at the same time yet~I'm sure that is coming next!
Poor Monkey Man~missing one arm, has a hole, and his poor mouth is still broken~he sure loves Monkey Man!

Well, we have had a great day! Not much going on for a Saturday. (we usually go somewhere) We slept late and hung around the house for a while. Josh rode this motorcycle for a while before it got TOO hot!! The kids and I stayed home and got ready for the pool. We went swimming after Josh got home and stayed for a good while. Tyson didn't listen as well as normal, but we still had a good time.

This afternoon a little before dark we loaded down in mosquito spray and headed to the park. I think with the pool and park walks today, we walked a mile. (any little bit helps right!) The kids had so much fun at the park. We haven't gone in a while because of the heat, but it really was not bad tonight. We came back and dug into the watermelon from the freezer! MMMMM........ Tyson chewed it and spit it all out! We enjoyed it even though we learned that maybe the day after the trash picks up is not the day to eat watermelon (what do you do when you're finished with it????? We don't live in the country anymore where we can just throw it over the fence and it is gone by morning!!)

Oh well, off to church in the morning and a quiet afternoon that will probably involve the pool.

Well, we had a great day. We met with our new friend and her little boy at SciPort to let the kids play. They had a great time playing and being itty bitty scientist! Poor Tyson got hit right in the face by some little boy there! It was so bad that I searched for the little boys grandfater that was with him and tattled on him! He said, "well, he is in the terrible 2's stage! He just stood there and was not even going to say anything to the little boy~I just stood there until he finally made the little boy say he was sorry!
We came back home and rested a while then had a great time eating pizza with Kevin, Brenda, Jennifer and Nick for supper. The pizza was GREAT! I think Avery ate about 4 pices of pizza and several chicken wings!

Not much planned for the morning, just going to sit around and wait for the JOB OFFER call. Let's all hope that it goes good! I am going to try to go and buy a new camera so that I can put some new pictures on here for you guys! Hope everyone has a great day.

We had a GREAT time at the pool. Avery is swimming like a fish and Tyson is getting pretty brave. He likes to count 4...7...5...GO and leaps into the pool.

The story behind the LSU and TEXAS caps~LSU and TEXAS are in the college world series right now and Josh just cannot leave Texas behind, while Tyson has already moved on to LSU. They got lots of looks and laughs from people!

Our baby boy finally knows how to look at the camera and smile~thanks Papa!!! Your practice has paid off!!

Goodmorning all!! We're up and not so at it this morning! Josh woke me up at 7:00 this morning so I could exercise~it didn't go so well! I did get up, but didn't make it all the way through my Sharon Mann workout.
Josh had a terrible headache this morning so he skipped out on the workout as well.
Avery woke up in a super sweet mood this morning and she is now watching t.v. and holding her baby brother. Oh, they can be so sweet sometimes~it doesn't last too long. Speaking of brother~he woke up crying and crawled out of of his room on the floor. I scooped him up with a blanket and rocked him for a second before he made me pull off his diaper. (he said it hurt) then he refused to put underwear or a diaper on. So that is where we are!! Avery just came in to tell me that Tyson poked her in the head with a crayon~see, I told you it wouldn't last long!
We plan on going to the library to get a few more books today. Then it's off to the pool I think.
